Ok so we have our first IUI Saturday. I am suppose to trigger tonight ( Thursday) at 10PM...then the IUI is 10:15am on Saturday... Doesn't the trigger seem too early? If you ovulate 12-24 hours after the trigger that would mean I am ovulated by 10pm on FRIDAY and my IUI on Saturday would miss my ovulation? Now I know the egg can live for 12-24 hours but what if mine is 12 hours and then the IUI missed the egg?!? I always heard its best to have sperm there before. BUT I also heard that washed sperm doesn't live as long so the timing is much more precise. I am waiting for a call back from my RE but still I am kind of freaking out! I just want this to work so bad!!! Please please please comment and let me know what you think and what your expiriences have been. A piece of me says trigger friday morning around 9am...24 hours later would lead me to 9am Saturday which is right before the IUI....HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im not doing my IUI for another cycle but I always thought that you are supposed to O 24-36 hours after the trigger so if that is the time frame, a trigger tonight would be ok.
Thats my only input, I dont have any personal experience with it yet. I hope you get some good feedback!

I think it is 24-36 hours after the shot then you O. I used to get the trigger shot and then we did timed intercourse. I remember getting my shot in the morning and then BDing the next night...
I know it's easier said then done, but try to relax, the doctor knows what he's doing. Try to be patient until they call you back...if you can - lol :0)
Do what your doctor says. I was told you O more like 36-40hrs after trigger so he's right. And I ws told to trigger have sex, no sex next day and then sex next day in morning which is exactly when you're having your IUI. So sounds just like me. Hang in there! It will be perfect!
Im not exactly sure how long it takes beetween the trigger but I have had 3 IUI's and all have been the same as you...trigger at night and then after one day you go in the next morning...I have know a lot of ppl that have gotten pregnant from an IUI so I guess it works...dont stress about it...its all good - just get the IUI done and go home and relax :-) and enjoy! If this is your first iUI - dont worry - doesnt hurt.
