16 DPO

Still negative. I was still hanging onto a little bit of hope but having a 30+ day cycle is nothing new to me. I was just hoping since I knew exactly when I ovulated that I would know exactly when I should be starting...Oh well onto month number..I don't know actually. Month number one million it feels like!

So its looks like IVF here we come. I don't know how the whole process begins but I plan to get in to see my RE when this next cycle starts. I know a lot of women do BCP before starting IVF and I am pretty sure my RE does that too so what I may ask is if I can start the BCP now and actually not start IVF til possibly June or July. Some things have come up where we will need to wait til then but that's OK with me. Sometimes I just need a start date even if it is far away. Or actually now that I am thinking about it I will wait til after this cycle to go see the RE since every visit costs so much and that way we will have one more " pray for a miracle" month.

I've been feeling sad of course but whatever about the whole thing. I guess in my head and heart I don't feel like its going to happen on its own anymore. I am really curious to checkout all the costs. On my RE's receipts that we get I was looking at it and it said " 3 cycle IVF Prof. Fee $3900" but I wonder what does that include? Obviously not meds but is that lab as well or just the ultra sounds and retrieval. Does it include the sedation for the egg retrieval? I guess I'll get all these questions eventually but please feel free to share your stories with me. Right when you think you are figuring out the world of IF you start IVF and feel like it's your first day of Kindergarten all over again!

Thanks for listening to my little vent session :)

Hey there, I am so soory that you might have to go this route! But I think you should seriously look into your clinic's Shared Risk policy. It is more more expensive than one cycle (actually it is the cost of about two fresh cycles), but you usually get 3 fresh cycles and 3 frozen cycles, and a big refund if you don't take home a baby.

I didn't qualify for the program, but it doesn't hurt to ask, my doctor was very into this program.

Good luck in whatever you do. Oh and you only need to be on BCPs for about three weeks, so right now I would just focus on financial stuff, and getting all of your testing out of the way, because these things can be time consuming.

GOOD LUCK!!!

I'm sorry to hear that you have to turn to IVF but just so you know I had countless problems before we tried ivf and we just did our first ivf back in Dec-Jan. and it worked for us. Its amazing what they can do. Its all worth it to have that baby. I will keep you guys in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm sorry that it didn't work this time. Maybe we will both end up going through IVF at the same time and we can be IVF buddies:)
