So it went wonderfully! After about 8-9 hours of cleaning with the incredible help of my amazing friend and her handy husband our home was ready for a white glove inspection. So to my surprise the SW showed up as sweet as can be. Faith helped us look pretty good too! Hubby asked the SW if she wanted to hold Faith so she did and about 20 seconds later Faith started screaming. Right when the SW handed her back to Daddy she stopped...Score 1 ! Then I started talking to Faith in my silly high pitched Mommy voice ( don't laugh you all know you do it too :) and she started smiling at me ... Score 2! So that was nice and the SW even said " Oh look she knows who her Mommy and Daddy are " It made my heart leap with joy.
She did the questions , we talked about life, and honestly it was over before we knew it. I wanted her to see all the beauty of the hard work we had done so I said " Oh let us show you her room" so I made sure to show off her closet full of clothes and toys for the future as well as her adorable nursery. We then took her to our little photo wall and showed her all the cool things we had done and told her more about our families. That was it ! Easy as pie!
So from here we have to wait til Faith has her 5 month appt and then we can finalize. Honestly that disappointed me. I feel like everything is done now we just have to wait for the sake of waiting...but whatever it doesn't even matter, in our hearts it is final and she is our daughter whom we adore more than words could ever say. The SW will come back one more time closer to finalization date just to make sure all is well and then it will all be official!
Hubby took the whole day off and we had a pretty awesome family day. We literally just hung out, played with Faith, then I took her to see her Grandma and Grandpa ( who were out of town all week and calling every day to see how their baby girl was) and here we are ready for bed!
So...I decided to go private with the blog. I just wanted to keep our story safe, my daughter safe...but it doesn't feel right. I would be sad making our incredible story private when so many new followers have come out of hiding and shared their story with us. God is using us in ways I could have never imagined and to make that story a " invite only" wouldn't be right...So thank you everyone so much for your support and love and thoughts and prayers because of you all our blog will stay public!
And because this post is already starting to go all over the place I would like to add if you could all say a quick little prayer for Faith's birth mother. She has been on my heart so much lately. Just pray for her peace and that she will know in her heart how incredibly loved her baby girl is.
I have so many pictures to share from our second pumpkin patch visit and life in general but my battery is charging so here's a couple to hold you over until next time you get to see her beautiful little face :)

she is just so sweet. glad to hear the visit went well. and i just have to say... if you do end up ever going private we sure hope we are invited! :) miss you guys. take care!
The thought of a home STUDY sounds so scary...but it sounds like it wasn't as awful as it sounds! I can't believe you were the one who had to request that the lady come see her nursery! I would think that'd be one of the things they'd have on their list. But it sounds like she was completely won over by you two!! Great news!
He answered our prayers!! Glad to hear everything went great ( I knew it would!!) Faith is getting so big but still as sweet as ever!!
Yay!!! For the homestudy being done! We had to wait 6 mos to finalize Shelby's adoption. It was annoying to wait that long but let me tell ya-the finalization hearing was AMAZING!! If you go to yours be sure and take kleenex and a camera!
Glad to hear that you are staying public. You don't use Faith's real name or really tell any major details about where you live etc...Sometimes I think about going public but I have gotten so comfortable not having to censor certain posts that I'm not sure if I will ever change back. I just wish I could reach more people.
I had no doubt that things would go wonderfully! Glad to hear that it is over and everything is moving along in the process. Love the pics!
YAY! So glad to hear that everything went great yesterday. I'm sure it was nerve racking. Congrats again on your beautiful little girl!!
She is adorable. Happy to hear the home visit went well. Glad you are going to keep your it public. I don't normally comment but I do keep up with your blog. Your strength and your faithfulness are inspiring. It's such a blessing to see God's presence in your life.
I knew it would go so well! It is kinda annoying you have to wait till 5 months to finalize but she is all yours and it will be only a formality. Glad you guys had a great day together. She just gets cuter by the minute.
so glad to hear part one is done! I'm sure you did great and she had no worries about you guys being parents to little Faith!
You are so blessed! She is beautiful and you are such an amazing mommy!
She has grown so much already!! I'm so glad to hear that your home study went to sell. We'll definitely keep Faith's birth mother in our prayers.
I'm a lurker and have been reading your blog for a few months now. I find you story very inspirational and it really touches home for me. My mom was unable to have more children after my brother and I but she had always wanted a full-house. I was 10 and my brother was 4 (the 6 year age gap was not her choice – it took her over 3 years to get pregnant with my brother) when my mom had given up on the idea of ever having more children. Well I guess God hadn't. My mom received a phone call one Sunday morning as we were all getting ready to eat breakfast. The phone call was from a good friend of my moms’ whom was a single mother and her son had A.D.D. To shorten the story a bit... she told my mom she was pregnant and wanted our family to adopt her baby. My mom turned to my dad as he was flipping pancakes and said, "John, Tammy is pregnant and wants us to adopt her baby". My dad in mid flip said, "Well tell her YES". My sister is now 13 and not only did my mom bring her home from the hospital she was also in the delivery room and was the first to hold her. I think adoption is amazing and I'm so happy that you were blessed with such a beautiful healthy child. Good luck with everything and keep the posts and pictures coming.
I also had to go private with my blog due to some creepers so I total understand why you would question that.
