This post is mainly to family and friends who may have recently seen the story of the California woman undergoing fertility treatment and ending up with 8 babies. You may think " Well Heather is doing fertilty treatments? Will she accidentally end up with 8?" And the answer is a 1 zillion % NO! In fact, my doctor would not even allow that possibility. I can't fathom the doctors that were treating her and I also can't wait as more and more of the story unfolds. People are beginning to say she had IVF and if that is the case the Doctor should lose his liscense for implanting so many eggs ( even if he did 6 and some divided it was still irresponsible) I agree that it is not a doctors call to decide the size of the family ( she already has 6 kids) but it is the responsibilty of the doctor to not allow the prospect of 8 babies inside one tummy. The goal each and every time someone seeks a fertility treatment is ONE healthy baby. Not twins, triplets or anything but one. And if a doctor says anything different, one should seek a different opinion. I would venture to guess she had an IUI cycle in which she had many healthy follicles and many took after the IUI. At my fertility clinic if you have and IUI scheduled and have any more than 3 mature follicles, your cycle is cancelled. They do not want the risk of a high multiple pregnancy.
So to my family and friend blog followers you don't have to worry about an 8 for 1 deal here.

Actually she did IVF and she even signed a waiver saying that she knew this could happen becuase she put in more than 2 eggs (which if you want to do you have to sign a waiver for, I know I did IVF and put 3 in to my dear son). I think she really abused the medical help that comes with IVF, her story makes me feel so sad for her kids.
Just in case.....I'm willing to help with babysitting sans poopy diapers, lol
First, your blog is so pretty! I love the background! Did you do it yourself, or get it from some site?
Second, the octuplet thing kills me! Like, on so many levels! I'd be thrilled with ONE successful pregnancy, and if I already had SIX - just Aghhhhh!
People are idiots. I'm embarassed for the whole reproductive medical profession.
