It's 4:30am on Saturday morning and I'm awake. Not because Faith is, but because our alarm went off. Our S.I.D.S. alarm went off at 4am this morning. And first I must say, she was fine. Faith never stopped breathing whatsoever. She simply rolled off the monitor. Thankfully we have this monitor which comes with two pads for when they do start rolling so we will be adding the second one tonight.
But its amazing what went thru my mind in the 0.2 seconds it took me to scream and run into her room.
I just screamed " Honey her alarm!" and we both bolted to her room a mere 6 feet away. But in those point two seconds my heart stopped. I saw so many scary visions in my head of my baby, things I never hope to see in my whole life.
We turned on the light and looked at our sweet baby girl snuggled up in the corner of her crib, still fast asleep, completely unphased by the incredibly loud alarm going off around her. We scooched her back to the middle of her crib and went back to bed.
I can't sleep though. My adrenaline is still running through my body like a mad woman. So I turned to do what relieves my stress the best, blogging.
But now I must try to rest.
Thank you Lord that my sweet baby girl is OK

Wow...how scary. No wonder you're awake. So glad she's okay! Praise God!!
Praise God! I would have also been running! And putting down that 2nd pad today. I am so sorry that you even had to have a moment of fear.
We have know two couples, each lost a little one to SIDS.This was one of our major fears when we brought our daughter home. That was one reason why we chose to co-sleep. It reduces the risk and it gives us such a sense of security,
Hopefully, you are sleeping soundly by now.
Hugs.
Now you have me thinking we should register for one too! Which one do you have? There are several and I am not sure how to choose!
I had no idea such an alarm even existed. So glad everything is OK! I think I woke up and did that run to my son's room at least twice a night for the first several months because I was so worried about S.I.D.S. Next time we are checking out that alarm! Hope you can catch up on your sleep!
I have another blog friend whose baby's alarm "went off" but it was due to her daughter rolling away from it! I will have to tell her that there are extra pads becuase she didn't know what to do because it would go off a lot. The first time, she nearly had a heart attack...I'm so glad you both have safe baby's who are squirmy!
I'm so glad she's Ok, and so sorry for your moments of terror!
Love!
Ah, that sucks. We have Beowulf in our room in a little bassinet... and I find myself doing stupid things like putting him down, getting into bed, and then thinking, "That rolled blanket I used to prop him up is a little too close to his face... what if... maybe I should move it..." and then I have to get up and do it even though I KNOW it's stupid because otherwise I can't sleep!
that must have been soo scary!!!! I'm glad everything is ok!
How scary!! So glad to hear everything is alright and Faith is just a wiggle worm :-) I think that is every parent's worst fear. Hope you were able to get back to sleep!!
Omgoodness!! I would have freaked out!! Thank goodness Faithy Pooh is okay!!
How scary but comforting to know the alarm actually works. What brand do you have and where did you get it? I hope you all have a peaceful night tonight.
