Nerd Alert .. Nerd Alert

My husband and I met online...yes online...and not one of those cool matchy websites either like Ma.tch.com or E.Harmony...we met on Yahoo personals...complete and total weirdo's I know! ;)

Kelly's Korner is hosting a " How I met my husband" blog so I thought I would share our crazy but very cool love story!

So when I was probably 19 or 20 my room mate and I signed up for Yahoo personals...why who the heck knows we were young and hot ( I am so kidding BTW) but we just did it more out of curiousity. So occasionally we would sit on the computer looking at profiles and laughing the night away who was cute, who wasn't and so on.

One night after I had moved back home I had an email from a good looking man! I mean really good looking! So I thought alright well lets just email...We emailed from November 2004 til about February 2005 until we finally met. Stupid part is we met at Hubby's apartment! What was I thinking ??? But it's totally not what your thinking we went to rent Anchor man and watched the movie all night. In fact we didn't even kiss until our 3rd date so don't worry ;)

Our first date was memorable for many reasons. One the sound on Hubby's TV wasn't work, he tried fixing it for probably about an hour it was too funny and I know how embarrassed he was, but none the less it was a great ice breaker. Secondly it was the day after Hubby's birthday so it's always an easy day to remember the first day we met. ( February 12, 2005) and lastly because everything was perfect! It was like we were best friends right away! I honestly didn't even think he was interested in me " like that" but thankfully he was.

Later that August I returned home to Wisconsin with Hubby to meet his family and I think then is when I knew it was real. I knew prior to that of course how much I loved him but going back to his hometown and meeting his family filled in all the missing pieces of who he is.

The following August 2006 we returned to Wisconsin where Hubby proposed to me on a horse and carriage ride. Then the following August 2007 we were married in an amazing ceremony in Southern California. Then August 2008 we celebrated an amazing anniversary and August 2009 little did we know we were mere days away from being chosen to be Faith's mom and dad!

Wow what a ride!

So yes our nerd story ends quite beautifully if you ask me. And as weird as it seems had it not been for the internet our paths would have never EVER crossed.

The Lord sure works in mysterious way :)

You guys have had a great journey so far. Isn't it amazing to think of what the future holds if so much has happened already?

A great story! God does work in mysterious ways. : ) My husband and I met online as well in a yahoo chat room. I didn't "plan" to meet him that way, but God had other plans.
: ) Love reading your blog. We have just started the process of adoption ourselves.
