First off :)
BIRDIE Please leave me your email address! I have been trying to email you to chat but it won't let me leave comments on your blog for some reason ;( But I do read it every post! ;) It just won't let me see the Captcha thing so I can't comment and leave my email for you!
OK so yesterday I was suppose to post about Easter! But Thursday night I got home from a belated birthday celebration with one of my BFF's and Faith was not looking to hot. Hubby told me she had been just screaming and cranky and she didn't even lift her head from his shoulders when I walked in. As soon as I held her in my arms I new she had a massive fever! I was right! 102.7 in seconds. It was so scary I immediately went into freak out mode. She was just so out of it all and so not herself so playing it safe we took her to a local pediatric urgent care center. Once we got there she made me look like a fool as she smiled and giggled and played with the toys in the waiting room. I didn't care that I looked ridiculous I just wanted Faith to feel better.
They checked out everything possible and could find nothing. No flu, no ear infection, fever to high for it to be teething, they just didn't know what was going on. As it got later and later Faith started feeling worse and because everything came back negative they need to get a urine sample to check for infections that they may not have been able to see. So they had to use a catheter to get a teeny tiny urine sample. That was torture! Pure torture...for Faith and Mommy and Daddy ;(
We went home with a medicine regimen to give her and the next day when she woke up she looked pretty bad but her fever had gone down to around 100. Well as the day wore on and the meds wore off her temperature shot right up again so I took her into the doctors office.
They did another exam and couldn't really find a reason either. Most likely just a passing virus ( which made me feel like it was my fault :( I took her to a little birthday party and for some reason I Just feel like she probably caught something there and I feel so guilty!) She did have an eye infection from her clogged tear duct and so we got meds for that and just gave her Motrin and today she woke up a lot better. Not 100% herself but a 100% better than the last couple days and no fever so that was the best!
Faith being sick had to be one of the scariest moments ever. I know that sounds dramatic but its like you don't fully get it until its your child there sick and screaming in pain and then watching her have the catheter inserted was just...heart wrenching.
It gave me a new appreciation for parents of terminally ill children. Of course I always have admired them and their strength and bravery and how my heart aches for them, but just this teeny tiny sample of what they go through on a daily basis made me realize just how strong and amazing they truly are.
But any who...Faith is much better today only side effect is she seems to be...well traumatized for lack of a better word. Anytime since Thursday we try to put her in her crib she clings onto us like a cat whose being forced into water. And then if/when we do get her in the crib she cries, not her normal I'm so tired fussy cry but the saddest cry you've ever heard. Its like she's scared to be alone or something. Its so sad and I usually only give her about 5 minutes of CIO before I go get her. Once she's better we'll have to get back to our more normal routine but more than anything right now I Just want her to know she is safe in our arms and we are there for her.
So yeah...Easter post has been delayed until tomorrow ;)

Shelby has been fighting either a cold or allergies for the past week. Not fun.
This is really scary. Makes me so sad. :( I am glad she is feeling better!! Health truly is one of the most awesome things to praise God for, right? May he heal your precious angel SWIFTLY!
Poor baby!!! I'm so glad she is feeling better.
Hopefully that is all she will get and she can make it through the summer healthy and happy.

poor thing!! And Faith too:) My girls have just recently had thier first fevers ever, and yea, not fun at all!! Glad she is better!! She is getting so big!! And just as cute as ever!!!!:)
Glad to hear Faith is feeling better! Having a sick child makes a Mama feel completely helpless. Crista woke up with a fever Thurs morning too! Her's spiked up to 105! Talk about scary!! Took her to the dr on Friday and he couldn't find ONE single thing wrong. Nothing! She's better now and we're so grateful!! And Faith will go back to her normal sleeping arrangement. Just give her time and it will all work itself out. Give her lots of lovin' in the meantime :-)
Hope little Faith is feeling better! I can't imagine watching them put a catheter in.
Don't blame yourself at all, kids will get sick...and don't keep her from living life either, birthday parties are a must! Besides, if she never gets exposed to germs her little body will never learn to fight them!
Andrew had a 103.7 fever not that long ago and I know what you mean about freak-out mode! We, too, found that it was "just" a virus. Nothing like the fear from something like that! You can't keep them in a safe little bubble, but I know what you mean about feeling guilty, too, not that you could have done anything differently.
