While driving we got a call around 6:40pm that we had a baby BOY! Gotta say we totally didn't see that coming! Having a little girl first we just always assumed of course we would have lots of girls ! LOL I love how God knows perfectly what we needed even when we have pre conceived thoughts of our own!
So anyways a little baby boy, born somewhat early around 35 weeks, weighing in at 5 lbs 6 oz but perfectly healthy in every way!
We got to the hospital shortly there after and met with our son's bio aunt who was simply amazing. We cried, we hugged, she shared some info with us and then took us to the NICU to meet the little guy.
He was simply perfect...so beautiful, so new, and so little! It was shock we just couldn't believe this was all happening again and happening so perfectly yet again. He was in the NICU so we didn't get to hold him but his nurse did say we could touch him. It was just so amazing and so....gosh no words can do that moment justice...
After a little while our little's guys Aunt called saying that his birth mother wanted to meet us. So with a million nerves running through our veins we went to meet her. We knew if she was anything like her sister we would be ok. And lets just say we couldn't ask for a better birth mother for our son. For someone more beautiful more loving and more strong than her.
The details of her and why she chose adoption are not something I'll share. They are a story belonging to her and her family, us and our son. But what I can say is she is amazing and chose to give life to the sweet boy growing inside of her and we couldn't be more thankful we did.
We hung out with her in her room for about an hour...It was pretty amazing to just be able to talk and be open and ask questions and answer questions. It was never awkward, never unsure, just old friends catching up on life and talking of dreams for the future of the little boy who will forever unite us.
Her mom came to be with her and then we went back to the NICU to see our little man.
Our nurse asked us if we wanted to hold him and of course we had to ! I was dying inside to hug and smell his sweet newborn skin! So took turns holding him and loving him and then headed the long driving home to shower and rest up for the next day!
