Apparently I like torturing myself because tomorrow my mom and I are going to the local Kids Consignment sale. Why you ask? Good question I have no idea! A few years back I heard about it and couldn't wait til we had little ones and could go and get some bargains. So this year I kept getting the email reminders it was coming up and I was still excited thinking I would at least be pregnant by May. Then as it got within weeks I still wanted to go in hopes we would get our miracle adoption baby that quickly and now tomorrow I am going without being pregnant, no adoption plan in sight, and pretty much going looking for items for a child who only exists in my heart.
Again I ask...What am I thinking?

I collected stuff for three years, because I knew eventually God would answer our prayers. I bought all kinds of toys and even bought a swing, travel system, bouncy seats, exercauser, etc. Now's the time to buy rather than waiting til last minute and having to pay full price. I say go for it!! You're just "preparing for rain!" If you don't know what I'm talking about, watch the movie "Facing the Giants."
God gave you a mother's spirit for a reason. He's not going to fail you, you are simply going on faith and I admire it tremendously. He does not give us a heart for such things as motherhood that he will not carry though. I firmly believe it.
Oh, sweetie, it's okay! I go into stores all the time just to look for baby stuff with Mark. I want to enjoy these times with him and dream so we take advantage of it. Enjoy it! Dream big and go for it!

I was the same way. I felt like why would I get things for a kid I dont even have on the way yet. One day someone offered me a great carseat and I couldnt pass it up. I put it in the attic where I wouldnt have to see it. God is going to answer your prayers. If you feel like you can handle the emotional frustration of purchasing those items or that it might even help you feel like you are getting some planning done then go for it. Have fun!
At least you will be prepared and know exactly what you want when the time comes. One of these days God will bless you with a beautiful baby but the time is in his hands:)
