First and Second Dr's appt

Last Wednesday was Faith's first doctors appointment! We obviously were unprepared in the pediatrician department so I went with the recommendation of one of my best friends and I am so glad we did! The pediatrician Dr. T was and is amazing. She just made us feel so at home, in fact the whole staff did.

Faith did wonderful! She just laid there and starred at Daddy and didn't cry until the very end because she was hungry. She even gained an ounce which was great not even a week after birth!

Today Faith and I went back. She had been practically projectile vomiting her formula. It went in and about 30 minutes later came back up which was scary as heck when she is laying down and you just hear her kinda gagging. SCARY! Thankfully she doesn't struggle cry or anything just spits it all out ( nose and mouth) and then needs a little cuddle and she's good to go. Still I was worried. So we went in and they told us to put her to sleep at a slight incline and gave us some different formula with soy to try! They also took her temperature and taught me how to do it and checked out a little pink on her tooshie and all is well! Oh yeah and she does have a clogged tear duct but they said it was incredibly common and gave me some drops and told me to massage it and it already seems to be better!

Dr. T made me feel so great. I think when anything goes wrong with your baby you feel at fault. At least I do. Like what was I doing that made her vomit, or why was her eye always gooey, what had I done? But Dr. T just kept telling me I was doing a great job with her ( and hubby of course too) and that just made me feel so much better!

Hubby comes back from out of town tonight! His girls here miss him so much!

Also tomorrow I will post some pictures of her closet! One of my amazing friends came and reorganized EVERYTHING. Before we had no room for anything and now Faith has her own closet, with only a little bit of Daddy's cycling gear in there! I wish I would have taken before pictures but I am a nerd and forgot but seriously you will love the after!

Now some pictures of the first Dr. visit! No pictures from today's sorry :)

You guys are so lucky to have such a great little girl. I am glad you found such a great pediatrician I need to start looking into that asap. I am more worried about who is going to circumcise him. Glad to hear she is in good health. Is it just me or did you slip on her real first name in this post?

Glad her appointments went well, and they changed her formula. Our lil one used to do the same thing. Similac Isomil advance soy was the last and best one we had her on. She was on so many different kinds of soy formula. And she slept until she was a year old, up! She is a beauty. Congrats again.

Oh, this cracks me up! You said Grandma Pat and Grandpa Al and she geared up to start crying. :)

Don't feel bad about the projectile vomiting. My oldest did that too for awhile. Messy, but he continued to gain weight, so all was well. As for the messy -- we still have one stain down the back of our headboard from him that I just can't bring myself to wipe off! :)

She is beautiful!!! Our little man has spit up since about 4 or 5 weeks old. We have been on 3 different types of formula - first Enfamil, then Soy and last Gentlease which is he still on. He also take Prilosec for acid reflux - he doesn't have projectile vomit, but he spits up alot of his bottle most of the time. He is gaining weight which is good so his peditrician is not too concerned.

I hope the soy works for you if not maybe try the Gentlease or mention reflux...just a suggestion. Our pediatrician say our little guy will probably just have this until he is about 10 months old and we will have lots of laundry to do and to make sure to carry lots of burp cloths, bibs and a changes of cloths!!!

Hope this helps and hopefully she won't have this very long!
