Potty Training

When we were still in Austin I would say around 17-18 month we bought a lttle princess pott for Winni. The idea being make it a fun toy for a while and when it came time to start using it we wouldn't have any fear issues with it because she would already be used to it.

Well our super girl decided she wanted to start going pee pee on the potty right away! So for the next couple months on and off she would use the potty mainly at night and I woud take her diaper off while we were at home. I was so proud of her but I wasn't quite ready to potty train her simply because at this time the prospect of moving home was pretty likely.

Fast forward a month or two and we were packing up to move to California, spent a month living at my mom's while we found a place to live, moving into a new home and then 2 weeks after that a new unexpected baby brother arrived and potty training got put way on the back burner.

But my Winni was still ready so these last couple weeks we have spent as much naked time as possible while at home and I am proud ot say my girl is about 90% potty trained with minimal effort on my part! ( Thanks baby girl you made this easy for the both of us!)

It is definitley up to me to take the final leap and stop diapers completely. I have my moments where diapers are just easier and I haven't taken the leap to trusting her completely in public and don't wanna deal with an accident while we are out and about but I know its time and let me tell ya she is just awesome letting you know when she needs to go and she is even pooping in the potty already!

Yup I took a picture...deal with it :)

She was so proud and still is each and every time she jumps  up from the potty and squels with joy! Its simply the cutest!

So its time for this mama to make the final leap and officially announce our house a diaper free ( well except for Ty ) environment and call my baby girl potty trained!

Hi Heather, my name is Lindsay and I've been following your blog for a few months now. Your babies are so gorgeous. My husband and I are starting the adoption process and saw you went through adopthelp. I was wondering if I could ask you some questions about it? It seems like you got really fast placements for both kiddos. If you have any time (I know time is short for you right now) but I would appreciate some of your thoughts on adopthelp. My email is LindsayOhlson@gmail.com. Thanks so much for being such an inspiration! I feel like I could have written all the posts you wrote before your adoption.

Take care!

well congrats! We are in full swing of potty training as well! I would not say that paige has been "easy". I FINALLY figured out that if I did not put her pants back on and she just wore her "big girl panties" around she does really well. It is going to be hard for me to make the final step to the public outing with no "protection" as well. ESPECIALLY because of the baby! Just makes things that much more complicated. Have to lug everyone into the bathroom, yada, yada, yada... Ya... so I get it. :) It's so funny how proud of a little poop one can get! :) good luck as you continue! :)
